Understand the architecture

Open RAN focuses on openness and interoperability within the radio-access network. A project must identify the selected components, interfaces and responsibilities rather than assume that every vendor combination is interchangeable.

Make interoperability a testable requirement

Specify the equipment and software versions, interfaces and test cases relevant to the deployment. The integration plan should address configuration, performance, monitoring and recovery.

Define the delivery boundary

Agree which parties supply, integrate, validate and operate each part of the solution. Record dependencies and acceptance evidence before making deployment commitments.
